Ben Noyes: Cellist / Composer / New Directions
A multi-faceted individual, Benjamin Noyes has many talents all revolving around an exceptional focus on the cello. With a particular interest, fascination and devotion to the qualities and production of sound, he channels his creativity and music into areas including, but not limited to performing, teaching, composing, recording, producing, drawing and writing. He is widely acclaimed for his performances of solo recitals, chamber ensemble concerts, and various classical and non-classical ventures.

Nordica Trio
The members of the Nordica Trio are: Graybert Beacham (violin and viola), Karen Beacham (clarinet), and Martin Perry (piano). This ensemble brings together three outstanding musicians who have performed internationally. Since its debut in 1993, the trio has been enthusiastically received by audiences in Maine and beyond. Grants received by the trio include those from the Maine Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. Following a performance at the University of Southern Maine, the Portland Press Herald wrote in its review: “Both the individual playing and the total ensemble were virtually flawless in every work, no matter how difficult. Better still, the musical character of each was shaped with taste and imagination.”

Bronek Suchanek, Bassist
Bronek Suchanek is one of New England’s most respected double bass players, known for his ability to straddle jazz and classical genres. After immigrating to the Boston area, he made a name for himself playing and recording with such big bands as the Artie Shaw Orchestra, Woody Herman Big Band, and Kenny Hadley Big Band. He has recorded and performed with numerous small jazz groups, accompanying such jazz artists as Rebecca Parris, Herb Pomeroy, and Amanda Carr. He has toured the world with appearances at the JVC North Sea, Montreux, Berlin, and Newport Jazz Festivals.

240 Strings
A non-profit organization based in Portland, Maine
Students and their families join an exciting, involved musical community, led by professional musicians. Every student has a private lesson every week. When they are proficient, they can join the chamber music program and make music with others. With free access to performances around the region and individualized programming and instruction, 240 Strings is thriving.
240 Strings’ free community concert season has grown to four concerts per year.

Chris Taylor, jazz pianist
Chris is currently living and performing in Boston and its surrounding area including Cape Cod and Rhode Island.
He has led his own jazz bands at the Boston Prudential Tower’s “Top of the Hub Restaurant” for 13 years, toured the U.S., Canada, and Europe in various musical endeavors.
